This Baked Salmon recipe is the first post in my Thanksgiving series. It is a great recipe that is super easy to make and creates a great balance to your Thanksgiving meat dishes. Unlike most Thanksgiving recipes, this is a dish that you can prep early and thrown into the oven right before your guests arrive without having to worry that it may not get cooked on time. And while entertaining your incoming guests, this fish is baking away!
Mayonnaise with Tamarind Mix (Oh Yeeaah!)
A recipe with a Filipino twist to it with the use of Tamarind Soup Mix ( yes, it’s the soup mix we use for sinigang). The sinigang mix gives it a tangy flavor that blends well with the fish, similar to dipping fish in lemon. To make it more savory, we top the fish with mayonnaise. I know some people may be quite skeptical about salmon and mayonnaise together or maybe even with just mayo by itself. But you gotta trust me on this…the mayo gives the salmon extra moisture and a hint of sweetness and creaminess, making it a rich dish perfect for Thanksgiving!
Give this recipe a test and let me know how you and your guests like it. I am sure it will be a hit on your Thanksgiving party!
